Privacy policy

This page describes what happens to the details you send us. It is short because the site collects little: there is one form, and no analytics or advertising trackers of any kind.

What we collect, and when

Only what you type into the demo request form, and only when you send it:

Our server also keeps ordinary technical logs of requests, including IP addresses, which is how the form's rate limit works and how we notice something is broken.

Whether you have to give us any of it

You do not. Sending the form is your choice and nothing on this site depends on it. The fields it asks for are needed only in one narrow sense: without a way to reach you, and without knowing roughly what you run, there is no demo for us to prepare. Not sending it costs you nothing else.

Why, and on what basis

To answer your demo request and to prepare the demo itself. Under the GDPR that is Article 6(1)(b), steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in replying to people who ask us to.

We do not use these details for marketing. If we ever want to, we will ask you separately and you will be able to say no without losing anything.

Your right to object

You can object to this processing at any time. The right applies to the second basis above, our legitimate interest, and you can use it on grounds particular to your situation. Write one line to the address above and we stop, unless we can show compelling grounds that override yours, which for a demo request would be a strange thing for us to argue.

How long we keep it

A demo request is kept for up to 24 months from the day you send it, so we can pick up a conversation that paused. Ask us earlier and it goes. Technical logs are kept for a few months.

Who else sees it

Nobody outside the people running CaptainFox, except the suppliers that make the service work and only in that capacity: our hosting provider, which stores the database and sends our mail. We do not sell data and we do not share it with advertisers, because we run none.

Where your data is

Today it does not leave the European Economic Area. The site is hosted in Poland, the database sits with the same provider, and mail goes out through it. No page here calls a service abroad: there is no analytics, no font loaded from elsewhere and no third-party bot check.

That can change. If we begin using a supplier outside the area, for example advertising measurement or a tool that helps us draft an answer, your details may be transferred there. Any such transfer happens only under a European Commission adequacy decision or its standard contractual clauses, and this page will say so before it starts rather than after. You can ask us for a copy of those clauses, and we will send it.

Automated decisions

There are none. Nothing you send is scored, ranked or profiled, and no decision about you is taken by a machine. A person reads your request and a person answers it. CaptainFox scores customer data inside the product, for the merchants who buy it, and that has nothing to do with the details you send through this form.

Cookies

One, and only if you ask for it. Switching the site to the light or dark theme stores that choice in a cookie called theme, so the next page you open is the one you picked. It holds the word "light" or "dark" and nothing else: no identifier, nothing that says who you are, and it is never read by anyone but this site.

A session cookie also exists inside the internal reporting area, which is not open to visitors and is strictly necessary for signing in there.

Neither is used to watch you, and there is no analytics or advertising cookie of any kind, which is why you are not being asked to consent to anything.

What you can ask for

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, to receive it in a portable form, or to object to us processing it. Write to the address above and we will answer within a month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO, Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland).

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it.
